Lido di Ostia is Rome’s own seaside. Half an hour from the historic centre, ten minutes from the southern suburbs — and you can get here by train without a car.
Parking along the seafront, a cycle path right outside and bike racks at the entrance.
It depends on what you choose and which day. The full price list is on the beach page.
No. Beach access is free and you can simply turn up. At weekends and in August it helps to send a message the evening before — we’ll confirm availability and hold your spot.
A sunbed is the classic single reclining bed. A double sunbed is twice as wide, made for two people or for anyone who wants more room. A deckchair is lighter and easy to move. All three can be hired by the day or by season.
Yes. From 1pm the restaurant serves at the table facing the sea. If you’d rather stay under your umbrella, you can order takeaway and bring it back to your spot.
Breakfast at the bar from 8:30. Lunch from 1pm. Pizza from 5pm. Aperitivo starts at 6pm, and in the evening we are restaurant and pizzeria, with the kitchen open until late.
Both. In the evening you can have dinner à la carte — daily specials based on the catch, salads, mains — or a thin Roman pizza, with the oven on until late. Eat at a table facing the sea or order takeaway. At weekends it’s better to book.
Of course. Aperitivo, restaurant and pizzeria are open to everyone — you don’t need to have hired anything.
Take the Roma–Lido train from Piramide to Lido Centro, then it’s a five minute walk towards the sea. The ticket is a standard Rome public transport ticket. By car, take Via del Mare or Via Cristoforo Colombo to Lungomare Toscanelli, where you’ll find parking.
It’s the closest sea to the city and you can do it without a car. Many people pair it with the Roman ruins of Ostia Antica, ten minutes away: ruins in the morning, beach and lunch in the afternoon.
Yes, monthly and seasonal, with the option of adding a beach hut. Places are limited and assigned in order of request — conditions are on the beach page.
